Rada Airlines reaching south of the border.

Patience was the key word this day as usually loading a cargo plane takes time. With a 3,5 hour delay! Finally push-back was approved and then the show started. Well over a hundred spectators and photographers  became anxious, longing for the startup sound of the four Soloviev D-30KU turbofan engines! The Ilyushin brought it's own towbar. After being stowed away in the forward lower deck, the beast came alive. It takes awhile to start the engines of the Il-62MGr. See above the unique design.  The freighter version has 12 main deck positions and a 40-ton payload. The special build in main cargo deck door is suitable for P1P/PAG pallets but only 185cm high. And even at the last moment a extra pallet was loaded and some more fuel added for it's long journey to Myanmar. The following days, the Ilyushin returned a couple of more times, even in gorgeous evening sunset light!  Photographers Heaven!

Clearly the similarities in design can be noticed.
